This Privacy Policy explains how Cutting Edge Dev (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use Testament – The Bible Word Game (“the App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to provide and improve the App experience:
- Anonymous User ID – Generated automatically via Firebase Anonymous Authentication. No email or personal information is required to start playing.
- Nickname – A display name you choose for gameplay.
- Optional Email – Only collected if you choose to link a Google or Apple account for sign-in purposes.
- Game Statistics – Games played, games won, and other gameplay data.
- Favorite Bible Verses – Verses you save within the App.
- FCM Token – A Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver push notifications to your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the App's core functionality (matchmaking, game rooms, leaderboards).
- To display your nickname to other players during gameplay.
- To send push notifications about game invites, updates, and relevant information.
- To track game statistics and display your progress.
- To enable real-time presence and voice chat features during games.
3. Technologies and Services Used
- Firebase Anonymous Authentication – For creating user sessions without requiring personal information.
- Google/Apple Sign-In – Optional account linking for persistent login.
- Cloud Firestore – For storing game data, user profiles, and nicknames.
- Firebase Realtime Database – For real-time presence detection and voice chat functionality.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) – For delivering push notifications.
4. What We Do NOT Do
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
- We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We do not display advertisements in the App.
- We do not use your data for marketing purposes.
5. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored on Google Firebase servers. Firebase provides industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your data at any time through:
- In-App (recommended) – Go to Settings > Delete Account. Your account and all associated data are deleted immediately.
- Email – If you cannot access the app, send a request to support@cuttingedge.dev. We will process it within 7 days.
Upon deletion, your profile, friend list, invitations, game statistics, favorite verses, FCM token, linked authentication, and Firebase Auth account are permanently removed. Game history records from completed games may be retained so other participants can still view their past games.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described in this policy. The App uses anonymous authentication by default and does not require any personal details to play. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided personal information, they may contact us at support@cuttingedge.dev to request deletion.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
